Author Description

Collingwood, Wilmot worked at the famous Coles Book Arcade in Melbourne and from 1932 as the manager of Melbourne University Press. He is best known for his adult poetry works To God: From the Weary Nations (1917) and Melbourne Odes (1934). The Bay and Padie Book (1917) was originally written to be read to Wilmot’s two young boys at bedtime but became unusually successful, selling out three editions in nine years.
